Dr. William Vandiver

Dr. William Vandiver

MD, FAAOS | Medical Director

Dr. William R. Vandiver is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Vandiver brings more than 20 years of experience to private practice in orthopedics. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in The Bronx, New York. Dr. Vandiver then went on to complete fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at Hutzel Hospital – The Detroit Medical Center.  

Following his formal training, Dr. Vandiver served as a surgical partner in Texas Orthopedic Associates. He has served as Chief of Surgery for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman and provided orthopedic coverage for multiple high school sports teams in Kaufman County. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Vandiver values regenerative treatments and non-surgical interventions. He is excited about the use of PRP therapy and other regenerative treatments in orthopedics. Dr. Vandiver is committed to restoring each patient to their optimal level of function, through these cutting edge treatments.

Dr. Vandiver has been married for over 20 years to his wife, who is a practicing radiologist. They have two daughters. He is an avid ice hockey fan and loves spending time with his family.

Theodoor Hancke

Theodoor Hancke

​Theodoor Hancke is board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and is board Certified in Non-Surgical Pain Management. Theodoor completed his training from Baylor College of Medicine, Nurse Anesthesia Program in Houston, Texas. He completed his fellowship in Non-Surgical Pain Management through Hamline University accredited through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Theodoor has been practicing anesthesia for over 10 years and is the founder and owner of Genesis Anesthesia. He developed an interest in treating pain early on in his career. He became an expert in ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks and started an acute pain management service at Texas Health Presbyterian Kaufman. Theodoor became a national speaker on ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks and presented lectures for anesthesia providers. For the last 6 years, he has provided advanced interventional pain management treatment for chronic pain. His goal is to improve patient function and mobility by reducing pain. He believes in utilizing a multi-modal approach in managing chronic pain. He is excited about all the technology and treatment options that Genesis Wellness and Pain can provide its patients. Functional restoration can be achieved through Emsculpt, Emsella, and other regenerative therapies, such as PRP. These new technologies and therapies are providing patients with state of the art pain management treatments.

​Theodoor was born and raised in South Africa. He’s an avid golfer and competitive tennis player. He enjoys hunting and fishing. He’s been married for 11 years to his wife, who is also a nurse anesthetist. They have two children, a son and a daughter.

Dr. James Stanley

Dr. James Stanley MD | Orthopedic Surgeon

James Stanley, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained spine surgeon . He specializes in the treatment of conditions and disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

A native Texan, Dr. Stanley received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his doctorate of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  He completed his internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma and his spine fellowship at Brown University.

Dr. Stanley has over 20 years’ experience, with interests in minimally invasive spine surgery, adult deformity, trauma, osteoporotic fractures, and disc replacement. He believes in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach to spine care and has the resources in place to diagnose and treat conditions of all parts of the spine. 

Dr. Stanley’s goal is to get patients back to their normal lives as quickly as possible so they may resume an optimal quality of life. His patients appreciate his laid-back bedside manner as well as the personal care and attention he gives to each one of them.

Dr. Stanley enjoys spending time with his wife, Tina, and their four delightful teenagers.

Cheryl Rubner

Aesthetics Nurse Injector

Cheryl Rubner has been a practicing nurse for over 40 years. In 2003, she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, from the University of Texas in Arlington. She has been a board certified nurse practitioner for the past 17 years.  Upon her certification, she practiced in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, before becoming certified in medical aesthetics. Cheryl has owned and operated a medical spa for the past nine years, and worked in a well known plastic surgery medical spa in Dallas, since 2013, where she specialized in PDO thread lifts, injectables and laser treatments. 

She has prior experience in Medical/Surgical nursing, Obstetrics, and surgical nursing, where she performed First Assisting duties.  

Cheryl is married to her husband of 39 years and has two grown children and six grandchildren. Her pastimes are traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.  Other interests include caring for her dog, cats, birds and bee hives. 

Hannah Dehnert

Practice Nurse

Hannah is our practice nurse. She has a Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Texas Woman’s University.

She has previous nursing experience in Pediatric trauma and pediatric and adult perioperative care.

She has been happily married to her husband Eric for 4 years.

They both enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling and hanging out with family and friends.

Hannah loves to read, exercise and be outdoors.

Isela Woolverton

Practice Manager

Isela Woolverton

Isela has been our Practice Manager since Genesis Wellness and Pain was established and she oversees all of the business’s logistics, including HR compliance and billing. In addition, Isela is our content creator for our socials and she’ll be blogging about various practice subjects, including weight management, sexual wellness and aesthetics. 

She is an honorably discharged US Navy veteran, having served for four years in Yokosuka, Japan, where she served as an administrator for the USS Blue Ridge LCC 19 and Pacific Seventh Fleet. 

Isela has worked in the medical industry for over 10 years, where she has held positions in Patient Admissions, Patient Navigation, Medical Coding and Billing, Emergency Department and Pain Management. She has a passion for our patients and finds it rewarding to witness the functional improvement and increase in wellness, that modern medicine provides. 

Her family includes an adult daughter, her husband and their infant son and an adult son and his wife. She enjoys traveling, reading true crime and history books, running, hiking and cooking. She is a published journalist and a certified bilingual (English/Spanish) translator. Isela is also a certified Patient Care Technician and has been an Advisor for Kaufman County Leadership since 2012. In addition, Isela is the owner of The Bleu Berry, a catering company, specializing in artisan charcuterie boards. 

Isela obtained an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and is continuing her education in Medical Management and Compliance from Texas State University.
