What are laser treatments?
Laser based therapies and treatments involve the use of various wavelengths of light to treat skin disorders, skin damage, excess hair, veins, tattoos, and more. At Genesis, our lasers focus on skin disorders, discoloration, and damage.
How do laser treatments work?
Aesthetic laser treatments work by harnessing energy in light to target various layers of skin and pigments within the skin. Fractional lasers, like the Clear + Brilliant Laser, can be ablative or non-ablative and provide thousands of tiny lasers to treat pigmentation issues and a number of age-related blemishes. Broadband light (BBL) lasers, such as Sciton’s Forever Young BBL, also heat up various layers of skin to stimulate cells to regenerate and produce new collagen. These types of lasers help rejuvenate your skin, providing a firm, smooth, youthful appearance.
What is treatment like?
Depending on the laser, treatment may involve several passes of a laser device over different parts of the body. The procedure is safe, generally gentle, and non-invasive. While everyone’s tolerance and sensitivity to light is different, anesthetics are usually not needed for BBL. However, we do use topical anesthetics for fractional lasers.
